You Are a Divine Being: How to Attract What You Want

I was walking through a forest in Maui, surrounded by wild green life that didn’t need my permission to grow. The trees weren’t asking if they were “good enough.” The air wasn’t trying to prove anything. It all just existed, perfectly… and loudly alive.

That’s when the thought landed in the clearest way: you are a divine being. And if that’s true, then the life you want isn’t “out there” as a maybe. It’s something you can allow, choose, and live into.

The thing that usually blocks it isn’t a lack of talent or a lack of luck. It’s the belief in a false self. A version of you that was trained to feel incomplete.

Let’s talk about how to spot that false self, step out of it, and start attracting what you actually want, without turning your life into a struggle.

You Are a Divine Being, Not Your Thoughts

Most people live as if every thought in their head is a fact.

When fear keeps masquerading as truth, thoughts are blocking the law of attraction before your behavior ever gets a chance to change.

“I’m behind.”
“I always mess it up.”
“I’m not the type of person who gets that.”
“It’s hard for people like me.”

Those thoughts feel personal because they happen inside your head. But feeling personal doesn’t mean they’re true. Many of them are old programming. Hand-me-down fears. Stories you picked up when you were young and didn’t know you could question them.

A contemplative man surrounded by negative thoughts and childhood memories, symbolizing old programming and the realization that you are a divine being.

Each time you notice the loop without obeying it, you begin to reprogram your subconscious mind instead of repeating the same inherited script.

Here’s the simplest shift I’ve ever practiced:

Instead of saying, “This thought is me,” I say, “This thought is happening.”

That one change gives you space. And in that space, you can remember: you are a divine being, not a stress playlist on repeat.

Try it right now. Pick one limiting thought you’ve had lately. Then say:

  • “I notice the thought that ___.”

  • “I don’t have to obey it.”

  • “I can choose again.”

That’s not denial. That’s leadership.

Because the real you isn’t the fear. The real you is the awareness that can see the fear.

The False Self That Was Trained to Feel Incomplete

There’s a version of us that’s been trained to believe life is mostly about lack.

Not enough time. Not enough money. Not enough love. Not enough confidence. Not enough proof.

This “false self” is loud because it thinks it’s protecting you. It whispers worst-case scenarios so you don’t get hurt again. It repeats old labels so you don’t risk embarrassment. It plays small so you don’t get judged.

And here’s the trick: the false self is convincing because it sounds like your own voice.

You might even laugh at how ridiculous it can be. It’s like there are two people inside you arguing over the steering wheel. One part says, “Go for it.” The other part says, “Don’t be stupid.”

But the goal isn’t to destroy the fearful part. The goal is to stop letting it run your life.

When you catch the false self talking, don’t wrestle it. Do this instead:

  1. Name it: “That’s my old programming.”

  2. Thank it: “I know you’re trying to keep me safe.”

  3. Choose again: “But I’m not living from you anymore.”

This is what it means to reclaim your power without turning it into a war.

You Are a Divine Being, So Most Limits Are Self-Imposed

One of the most sobering ideas I ever heard is that many “limits” are self-imposed. Not because you’re doing something wrong, but because you’re believing something automatically.

Uell Stanley Andersen put it like this: there are no limits you don’t impose yourself.
That line can sting… and it can set you free.

Because if your life is shaped by belief, then belief can change.

This is the honest power move:

If I’ve been saying “yes” to a limitation, even silently, I can say “no” now.

Not with force. With clarity.

A lot of people call their limits “reality.”

  • “This is just how relationships are.”

  • “Money is hard to come by.”

  • “I missed my chance.”

  • “I’m too old, too young, too late, too different.”

But what if those are just beliefs that got comfortable?

If you are a divine being, then your future doesn’t have to be a copy of your past. You can change the script. You can choose a new standard. You can decide that your inner world is no longer a landfill of old stories.

A person shedding old limiting beliefs and writing a new future, symbolizing that you are a divine being with the power to change your story.

Here’s a question that helps:

What “reality” have I been agreeing with that I’m ready to outgrow?

Write it down. One sentence. That’s enough.

You Are a Divine Being: Want What You Want (Not Just What Feels Safe)

Here’s something I see everywhere:

Most people aren’t going after what they truly want.
They’re going after what they think they’re capable of.

That difference decides everything.

If you only choose goals that feel safe, you never meet the part of you that’s powerful. You only meet the part of you that’s careful.

So I like to ask a clean question:

If all things were possible… what would I want?

That question is really about how to get what you want in life without shrinking your desire to match your fear.

Not what would impress people. Not what would avoid criticism. Not what feels reasonable. What do you want?

If your mind answers, “I don’t know,” that’s okay. Start smaller:

  • “What would feel like peace?”

  • “What would feel like freedom?”

  • “What would feel like relief?”

Sometimes you don’t find your dream through logic. You find it through feeling.

And as you get clearer, repeat the truth that steadies the whole process: you are a divine being. You’re allowed to want big things. You’re allowed to want a beautiful life. You’re allowed to want love that feels safe, money that feels clean, work that feels meaningful, and days that don’t feel like survival.

Wanting isn’t the problem. Hiding from what you want is the problem.

How to Shift Your Energy Without Pretending

A lot of manifestation advice accidentally turns into acting.

This is exactly why positive thinking doesn't work when your nervous system is still rehearsing fear underneath the words.

“Just be happy!”
“Just feel abundant!”
“Just ignore reality!”

That doesn’t work if your nervous system is stressed. Your body will call it fake, and the mind will rebel.

So here’s a simpler approach: don’t pretend. Practice.

Start generating what I call “magnificent emotions.” Not because you’re forcing cheerfulness, but because you’re choosing a new signal.

Joy. Gratitude. Calm. Love. Relief.

A person tuning a signal console from stress into joy, gratitude, calm, love, and relief, symbolizing that you are a divine being choosing a new emotional state.

Even five percent is enough to start.

Here’s the practice I use when I feel stuck:

  1. I stop.

  2. I breathe slower than I want to.

  3. I find one real thing that’s okay right now. One.

  4. I let that “okay” feeling spread for ten breaths.

That’s it.

Why does this matter? Because when you live from your senses only, you keep recreating your current life. You look around, see what is, and you feel what you’ve always felt.

But when you choose your state first, you stop being a reaction machine.

If you are a divine being, then you can create from the inside out. You can choose the energy you bring into the room. You can choose the meaning you attach to today. And over time, that changes what you attract because it changes how you think, how you act, and what you notice.

You don’t need to fake a smile all day.

You just need to practice a new baseline. In practice, you create your own reality by choosing which inner state gets repeated often enough to become your normal.

You Are a Divine Being, and Your Life Creates a Ripple Effect

This part gets overlooked, but it matters.

When you live from fear, you don’t just suffer quietly. You transmit it. You become sharp, guarded, distracted, tense. Relationships feel harder. Work feels heavier. You doubt yourself more.

When you live from your true nature, you transmit that too.

When you are a divine being and you remember it, you become steadier. You listen better. You take bolder action without the drama. You stop trying to buy things to fill a hole that was never real in the first place. You stop needing approval as oxygen.

And your life ripples outward.

Your confidence makes other people feel braver.
Your peace makes conflict feel less interesting.
Your joy makes space for better outcomes.

That’s why I’m so serious about identity. Not as a trendy concept, but as a daily decision.

That’s where an identity shift begins, because you stop treating the fearful version of you like the final version of you.

Here’s a simple daily practice to lock it in:

The “Divine Being” Daily Reset (3 minutes)

  • Minute 1: Put your hand on your chest. Breathe slowly. Say: you are a divine being.

  • Minute 2: Ask: “What do I want today?” Pick one clear desire (a feeling counts).

  • Minute 3: Choose one small action that matches that desire. Send the message. Take the walk. Make the offer. Clean the space. Speak kindly to yourself.

Then go live your day.

Not as the false self who’s trying to survive. As the real you who’s here to create.

Because the most “simple” law of attraction move isn’t a trick. It’s a reminder:

you are a divine being… and you’re allowed to build a life that matches that truth.
