I made a video the day before yesterday and got pretty emotional talking about what's going on in the world. I want to talk more about that and share some secrets to use for good during all these times.
I'm trying to process all the emotions of it. And I've had a couple of days to think about it. I've been talking to some of my friends that gave me some great perspective. And I've been thinking and reading a lot of your comments and a lot of your messages. So many people feeling are overwhelmed. We're obviously living in a world right now where it seems like 2020 is the year where there's so much darkness that's being brought to the surface. There's a lot of chaos.
There is a lot of division and there's a lot of frustration that people have from the George Floyd situation, of course. Going back before then, I think 40 million people lost their jobs already. Um, we are targeting in on unemployment rates similar to the great depression. The rich are getting richer because the federal reserve is printing a bunch of money and buying up the stock market with it.
It's easy to forget your purpose. And I've been thinking a lot about how do you keep your vibration up so that you can be a light in the world and that you can be a valuable person creating change, uplifting individuals, and helping to create the shift in this world. I was thinking, the first thing that's essential is to find meaning. It's extremely difficult to get out of bed with this much going on in the world and this much emotions happening in the world. Everybody's meaning, and purpose is going to be different, but you have to find something like that. You have to find something that will pull you out of bed every morning with intention and positive focus.
Maybe it's starting a children's leadership program through sports, or you want to create a new app that makes our lives better or more convenient. I was talking to this guy today while I was sitting at a coffee shop and he's creating this app where he wants to bring people together and make it a central point for change and community. Everyone's got their thing. Yours might be music. You might have a great business idea, or you might have a great way to uplift low income communities in America or around the world.
You have to pursue that because what happens otherwise is with so much darkness going on in the world, you get to this point where you go, what is the point? The thing about life is that we can't control everything that's going on in our world, but we can control where we direct our energy.
I just had a couple of tough days after George Floyd. And I had a lot of emotions before then seeing what's happening in the markets and so many people going unemployed. I just feel really sad for people. And I realized that I was directing my energy in a way that was just making me feel worse. It was just lowering my energy.
I had to ask myself, "what is my meaning right now in this season of my life?" And I was thinking, you know, if I could inspire a million people this year to clearly define and pursue meaning in their life, I think that it would uplift our world. And so I think that that's the first thing to consider. It's looking at what your mission statement is. Can you clearly define a mission statement? A reason that this is so important is because once you find that thing, your energy uplifts, your energy races, and when your energy raises, what happens is we come alive.
What the world needs is more people that will come alive. Ask yourself this simple question. What are you here on earth to accomplish? What are you here on earth to do? I think that that's the first step for everyone to consider is to find that sense of meaning. The next thing that I would say is letting go of what you can't control. I was having a tough time. I was talking to my buddy and my buddy said, look, you know, you of all people know this. You just, you can't control everything that's happening in the world.
If you try to control everything in your mind, all that's going to happen is you're going to feel so overwhelmed and you're not going to be able to do anything. You're not going to be able to offer any light to the world. You're not going to be able to help anybody. You're not going to do. You're not going to have the energy to get out of bed, let alone accomplish change and improvement in your life. However difficult it is, It brought me back to something that I've talked so much about on this channel. And that's "Is life happening to you or for you?"
I believe that every single person is meant for a bigger calling in their life. I believe that every single person is like a mini Martin Luther King, and there are many Steve jobs. Whoever you're inspired by whoever you think is a fundamental person, that's changed the world, I believe that all have that within us. And I believe it's been drilled out of us for so long and we've been so consumed by the idea, that we aren't enough. We've forgotten that. And I think at the core, that's what the great awakening is about.
What is the actual change that you want to see in the world? Go be that person and go do that thing, whatever it is! We can't control every single person in the world. And literally the only way we can make the world better is to start to direct our energy into the things that we know we ought to do. We should do. We could do. But time after time, we allow fear and anger to control us and we don't do it. And it's time to wake up and it's time to do it.
A third thing I want to say is sending love and light. Sounds new age, but think about it. Here's one thing that we could do. When someone does something that you disagree with, or they believe something that you disagree with, or someone just doesn't get it, what happens is we leave that encounter filled with fear and anger at them. It may be a friend, a family member, a politician, a youtuber...whoever.
What happens is that all of that anger festers and we lower our own vibration. It goes back to the same cycle that's been happening for centuries, which is divide and rule and divide and conquer. One of my buddies always says, there's nothing I can do to change someone except to send them love and light. I invite you to pick someone before a meditation, and send them love and light.
I've been so outraged and I've been so angry about things that have happened in the world and things that other people have did or said or done in my personal life or in larger society. And I keep coming back to "I send you love and light" (in my video above I share a story of when i got arrested for protesting at 14 : 16)
I had to realize that all of those constructs were illusions that were programmed into me and I could transcend them. What I'm asking you to do is to send love and light to your own fears. Walk out on the edge and see what you're really capable of. See how many people you can uplift. See how you could change something meaningful.

I believe that when we start to focus our energy inwards and question our limitations, we find out there are actually no limitations. None that we don't impose on ourselves. We impose them all upon ourselves. Don't quit. Don't give up. Direct your anger, direct your frustration. It's okay to feel depressed. It's okay to feel scared. It's okay to feel like you aren't sure whether your dreams and goals are possible, but it's time to start questioning your own limitations.
You will find out all of your limitations are self-imposed illusions that you can transcend beginning today. Thanks so much for being here today. I'm sending you all love and abundance, now.
