How To Manifest Exactly What You Want We talk a lot about the law of attraction. We talked a lot about the secret. We talk a lot about retraining your mind and neuroplasticity, and today's a special treat because we actually have one of the superstars from the movie, The Secret Life of John Assaraf, who's actually one of the world's leading experts on neuroplasticity, retraining and rewiring your brain, and eliminating old patterns and habits from it. So you can turn your brain into a magnet, and John actually has this really cool thing he does once a year; it's called the brain-a-thon, where he brings on all the experts in the world that talk about all this stuff, and it's free, and so in honor of that, we're going to have John on. Read here to learn more about this - Manifestation Tips To Improve Your Life.
I want to let you know it's free, and there's a link right there, down below in the description in the comments, that you'll see where you can sign up, and we'll get started talking to John. So first, welcome, John. Thanks, my friend. It's nice to see you again; it's been a while. Yeah, it's great to see you too, so I thought before I get into a couple questions that I have, I'd let everyone know the links right there down below for them to sign up for the brand-a-thon. It's free, but why don't you just tell us, for somebody who's unfamiliar, what the brain-a-thon is and why they shouldn't miss it?
Switch Your Brain's Failure Into Success By Turning It Off
So you know everybody gets an upgrade for their mobile phones; they get an upgrade for their software; what about getting an upgrade for your brain? Why not learn the latest in how to let go of habits that don't serve you? How do I create new ones? How do I understand more about why I have limiting beliefs? How do I get rid of the ones that don't help me, and how do I make and keep the ones that do? What about fear? What are we learning in the last 12 months about fear? Whether it's fear of failure, fear of disappointing yourself again, or fear of investing in yourself, nothing changes. Well, we're starting to understand the mechanisms in our brain, the networks, the circuits that turn on or off whenever there is change going on in our lives, whenever we're uncertain, whenever there's a lot of change, whether it's in the environment, whether it's political, whether it's health-wise, whether it's a business's ability to succeed or fail, we're starting to understand those mechanisms more and more.
And specifically, we now know how to turn on our brain's success switch and turn off our brain's failure switch, and the more we learn, the easier it becomes for us to actually set goals and then follow through and achieve them instead of procrastinating and sabotaging our success, and that is really why I do the brainstorming and bring on some of these world-renowned experts, so you have like a bunch of neuroscientists and all these guys that are kind of the hard-to-reach guys. When you have keynotes, they cost a bunch of money, and you kind of bring all those really cool people together, and that's kind of what it is—a lot of really cutting-edge presentations on neuroscience and affecting your brain in a positive way.
It Is Easier And Faster With Neuroscience

What I want people to know before I get into some questions is that this is really not going to be about neuroscience as much as it's going to be about what we're discovering, for example, about how our memory centers are connected to our habit centers. In order for us to change our habits, here are three steps that you can take to make a habit faster and easier than ever before. So we're not going to get into, you know, talking about the hippocampus and the executive function network, and it's all practical stuff that every one of us can use right now to gain more self-confidence, more control, more awareness, and more personal power, using the latest in neuroscience to make it easier and faster. So imagine that you know you want to solve a Rubik's cube. If you want to try and figure it out on your own, it could take you a lot of time, but if you have an expert saying, "Hey, just turn this left, turn this right, turn this one up, turn that one down," you can do it so much faster. So we're going to give people the exact techniques, tools, and resources to do it faster and easier than ever before, and that's why I do it and bring these experts on.
So for people that are unaware, I have two channels too. I've got my main one on personal development, and I have a finance one, so on the topic of money, just for people that are also unaware of your story, you've become one of the most successful Re Max brokers, I think, in America. You've done very well in business, and so on the topic of money, just for people that are also unaware of your story, I think you have become one of the most successful Re Max brokers in America. You've done very well in business, and you know that after you kind of retired from that, you started studying the mind. You've worked with all types of big companies. I even saw that you were with the NBA team, the Clippers, showing them some of the research you were doing, and right now, obviously, a lot of people have lost their jobs, and a lot of people are really kind of sweating about money.
The Impact Of The World In People’s Minds
What can you tell us about what you're seeing right now in the world and how that's affecting people's minds or the biggest problems people are having? And maybe for the people that are on my finance channel who say they're unfamiliar with even this idea, what is all this about this idea that your mind and your brain affect your neurology and your money? Can you elaborate on all that I know was a big question? That's a good question, and if you think about your brain, let's just take your brain for a moment and try to understand your brain. If you think about the financial institutions, they have the most powerful computers in the world because they make trillions of dollars from exchanges every week. They have the most powerful computers in the world making calculations about what to buy, what to sell, and what the risks are.
Well, what about your own brain? It is more powerful than any of the financial institutes' computers combined. You have a billion-dollar brain without having the user's manual for it, so let me give you an example. Let's say you believe that you're not capable of navigating through this crazy time that we have right now, and that's what you actually believe. Your brain actually deletes or distorts any of the solutions to actually do well in the market right now, and our brain is acting like it's owned by your computer that is listening to what we think and listening to the marketplace, creating these biases that then delete or distort anything that doesn't match with the belief or bias that we have.
There Are Opportunities In Both Good And Bad Times
So here's a question that I ask everybody in these crazy uncertain times: are there some people that have made a fortune in the last three, four, five, or six months? And the answer is, of course, that they have, so the question is, why not you? What could be holding you back? What beliefs or biases may be holding you back? What habits may be holding you back? What fear may be holding you back? What level of doubt or uncertainty may be holding you back when there's plenty of money to be made in the stock market or in the real estate business right now? Here's what happens: Our brain is a deletion and distortion biocomputer, which means that whatever it is that we believe and whatever habits we have developed, our brain deletes and distorts anything that doesn't line up with and match those beliefs and habits.
We have to understand that there's plenty of opportunity in good times and bad, and when we train our brain to find the opportunities, we train ourselves to feel the emotions of uncertainty, fear, and doubt but then to take action in an intelligent, risk-less way -- not risk-free. There are so many examples of people who are doing well right now, and there are examples of people who are not doing well right now, but even in booming times, there are people who lose a fortune. How interesting is that? So that was really interesting, so just where everyone is listening—obviously, this is fascinating stuff, so you're not going to want to miss it.
Deepest Level Of Your Subconscious Programming
The link's right there down below; there's a free brain-a-thon coming up here soon; you can sign up in the link right there down below, so I just want to remind everyone of that before I go into my next question, which is the thing that caught my attention most interestingly. I've never heard somebody describe their brain like that. You said it's basically a deleting mechanism, which is interesting in that, um, it kind of explains why somebody, like you said, if they're programmed in a way where they don't think they're smart enough, they can't figure out the markets, they're bad at sales even if they learn new sales skills, or they just keep forgetting it. Is that what's happening? It's like the deepest level of your subconscious programming regardless of anything else, is that what you mean?
So let me give you a visual that everybody will understand. Let's say you have your radio on right now, whether it's on your phone or it's playing in the room you're in; this does not imply that you're listening to rock and roll music on 95.5 FM. What happens to all of the stations at 95.6, 95.7, 95.8, and 959? What happens to all the thousand other stations below or above 95.5 that are rock and roll? They're blocked out, right? You're there If you just turn the dial to 95.6, you might have punk rock right there, so all of the information that's available right there is still right there, but if you're locked and loaded on the station that you're at, let's say you're making fifty thousand dollars a year or a hundred or five hundred thousand dollars a year, you're locking out of all of the other stations, opportunities, people, tools, and resources, not because you can't access them but because our brain has flips and switches that turn on or off certain switches of what we see, what we feel, and what we do, how do I turn on?
Switch Your Motivational Success And Turn Off Your Fear

For example, I could turn off my executive functioning switch and turn off my default mode network that's causing me to behave the same way over and over again, and most people would say, "I don't know very well how you turn on your brain's motivational success switch and turn off your fear switch, which you can do in less than 90 seconds." Now that we've leveled up our awareness of how our brain works, it's time for your brain's software upgrade, and that's what's going to give you the choice and the ability to multiply by 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10 your income and your life because it's all available to you, but if you're not using your brain as well as you can, that's like having a million-dollar Ferrari in your driveway.
You have the key, but you don't know where to stick it, and you can't drive the car out of your driveway, so all of the information is now available to the ninth degree of where we are as a species, and we've never had this information before, and the reason we have it, by the way. Now that we're able to actually look into live brains as somebody is in a state of fear, motivation, anxiety, or panic, we can see the circuits that turn on or turn off and guess what is needed for us, for example, to achieve greater success.
Keep Motivated And Excited To Move Forward
We need a little bit of stress and a whole bunch of motivational neurotransmitters that keep us excited but also keep us moving forward, versus flooding our system with a lot of fear stress hormones that cause us to retreat, procrastinate, and self-sabotage. These are the little techniques and tools we'll be talking about on the brain-a-thon that will empower people to say, "I have more control than I ever thought possible," and that means that you can take inspired action every single day instead of allowing outside circumstances to control you. That's super interesting. So everyone can link right there down below to check it out, so go ahead and write this second sign up.
So one thing I was listening to and one thing I was thinking about—you know, there's a lot more than two things. First, based off of what you were just saying, it's interesting for me as an observer to listen to you because then I go, "Wow, what's happening right now is that there's so much fear—there's fear of death, there's fear of the economy, there's fear of civil unrest, but a lot of it is financial fears, and everyone's so worried." So it's almost like our entire environment has basically become a conditioning system that shuts a lot of our brain off from working at higher functions. Is that basically what's happening and why it's so important for us to take a step back? You hit the nail on the head; behind me, you're going to see Einstein and Frankenstein's monster. So imagine that in your brain there's a part that's actually the left prefrontal cortex that's the Einstein imagination, deductive reasoning, and the part of our brain that can see ourselves having an amazing life.
Close The Part Of Your Brain That Wants To Hold You Back
When we have things in our environment where we know there's a predator at the door, like a coronavirus or losing money in the market or in real estate, that activates our Frankenstein brain and actually shuts down that part of the brain that wants to hold us back and keep us safe just in case. So that part of our brain is always thinking, "What if I make a mistake?" What if what I invest in the market goes down? What if it goes up and then goes down? What if I can't pay the mortgage? "What if I..." That part of our brain is always working, checking, and balancing anything that could get us into trouble physically, mentally, emotionally, or financially.
So, the first thing we have to learn is how to turn on Einstein and turn off the Frankenstein brain, just like you learn how to use your brakes and gas in a car. Once you've done that, you're in charge, and your brain is working for you instead of the other way around. What do you think it is? Is it childhood conditioning that wires into the brain, or am I just being exposed to so much crap in our world? I mean, what do you think of all the research that you've done on this stuff? What do you think if there is a number one cause, i.e., what's causing there to be four things?
The Four Aspects Of The Brain-A-Thon
We'll be discussing all four aspects of the brain-a-thon and giving people solutions. So number one, if somebody doesn't have the knowledge or skills for the goals that they want to achieve, Frankenstein goes on high alert, which causes doubt and worry, and Frankenstein goes active, and you stop taking action, boom! If you have limiting beliefs, go to number two: "I'm too young, I'm too old, I don't know how to do this." "Boom Frankenstein activates." "We put our foot on the brakes." So limiting beliefs number three: self-image. Let's say you want to make a lot of money, you want to have a nice car, you want to have a nice home, you want to give to charity, and you want to make a difference, but your hidden self-image doesn't see you as deserving or worthy of that yet.
Think of lottery winners who win the lottery and get rid of the money within three years; 87 percent do. Why isn't it because they can't hire the experts to help them? That will only allow us to succeed and make our outside world in coherence or harmony with our internal map of ourselves, so if the vision and goals that we have are bigger than our self-image, we will sabotage the success, and then number four, which we talked about a little bit, is fear. There are over 50 different types of fear that can hold people back: fear of failing (what does it mean if I fail?) fear of disappointing my spouse, myself, or somebody else; fear of making my goals known to my friends or family and then not achieving them and being embarrassed, ashamed, ridiculed, or judged; so when any of these mechanisms are activated, the Frankenstein brain goes on freaking high alert.
Procrastinating Fear Of Disappointment
The number one thing we do is procrastinate, procrastinating for fear of disappointment. So even though we have all those books behind us like you have right there, even though you might have the knowledge in there if any one of those four things is activated, the Frankenstein brain is dominant, and the Einstein brain that can help you solve all the solutions is dormant, and guess what? You do more of the same to keep you in your comfort zone, so would it be beneficial to first understand the mechanisms? understand what the triggers are? and then understand how to deactivate the Frankenstein brain? So you can come up with all the solutions that your imagination will allow you to, since we have all the how-tos that anybody watching you or me right now wants to know how to fill in the blank. We know all of that, so that's not your problem, right?
We know you want to double your income, and we know how to do it. We know you want to double your business, and we know how to do it. We know you want to overcome your fear of failure, and we know how to do that. We know you want to let go of trauma from your past, and we know how to do that. Come to the brain-a-thon, and we'll show you how. So, I know John is busy and has a lot of interviews, so he has to leave in a minute. I want to encourage everyone, whether it's about money, or maybe you lost your job and realized you always wanted to start a business but were afraid, or maybe things have been going well and you just want to upgrade your brain and figure out a couple blind spots, or whether it's just about relationships and being a better mom and working less.
So I want to encourage everybody to go to the link right there in the description in the comments, and I'm looking forward to it. Thank you, Jake. It's always great to see you, and I hope to serve the people who are watching this in a way that transforms and empowers their lives. Absolutely, John, this is good stuff. All right, well, thank you.
